KeyHIE Transform – Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers

Service description & features
KeyHIE Transform electronically delivers EMS-provided patient care information directly to the patient’s care team. It extracts clinically-relevant National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS) data from the patient care report and converts it into a standardized HL-7 CDA R2 document or clinical summary as shown below. The clinical summary can be incorporated into any specified health information exchange for access by participating clinicians. This seamless process eliminates the time-intensive task of hand delivering patient care documents to the hospital.

This low-cost software solution, which supports NEMSIS versions 2 and 3, meets and exceeds HIPAA and personal health information security standards. KeyHIE Transform is based on HL7 standards, which means the technology is standardized and nationally-interoperable.

Benefits

  • Quicker treatment decisions. With EMS information at clinicians’ fingertips, KeyHIE Transform puts real care on the fast track.
  • Better patient communication. Less discovery time about medical history means more time to personally connect with patients.
  • Reduced operating costs, repeat phone calls, faxing and waiting on paperwork.

Users of this service will receive a KeyHIE Portal Account to view patient clinical data from other participating clinical facilities.
