The Keystone Health Information Exchange (KeyHIE™) organization aims to provide healthcare professionals with the timely information they need to provide the best care possible for their patients. The Exchange will connect physicians and other healthcare professionals in a 31-county region to more than 50 hospitals and other facilities in the region.

Significant Benefits

There are many benefits for patients and their providers in this connected future. One common scenario is illustrative: Following an automobile accident, a patient arrives at an emergency room where she has never been seen before. An electronic look-up reveals that the patient was recently seen at a nearby hospital. Her problem list, allergies, and recent lab results are immediately available to the treating physician.
